The hazards of relying solely on motivation

After being an in person trainer for so long, I have seen clients start with a great deal of determination to get their fitness goals accomplished. A couple months later that spark would fade and they would either drop off or start skipping some of their sessions. That is because they were relying on the motivation that they once had and once that motivation had faded, there was no more drive to accomplish a goal that had one time meant so much to them. That is where discipline comes in… if Thomas Edison only worked on his lightbulbs when he felt like it, we would probably be sitting in the dark right now. Discipline is simply doing the things that must be done in order to get your goals even when you don't feel like it. Discipline is what carries us when motivation fades. A healthy aesthetic physique is a reflection of that person's discipline.
